CS2 incoming: Halo Infinite Set to Launch S&D Extraction Mode with Deep Economic Mechanics

Mar 17,25

Halo Infinite, while perhaps not dominating the headlines like some other titles, continues to receive dedicated content updates. A recent addition is S&D Extraction, a competitive game mode designed to inject fresh strategic depth into the gameplay.

Inspired by Counter-Strike's classic formula, S&D Extraction puts a unique Halo spin on the experience. Two teams of four players face off: attackers aiming to plant a device at a specific point, and defenders striving to prevent them. Teams switch roles after each round, with the first to six round wins claiming victory.

The mode incorporates a robust economic system. Players earn in-game currency by completing objectives, then use these earnings to purchase equipment at the start of each round. Pricing dynamically adjusts based on player performance, ensuring a constantly shifting meta. All gear is lost at the end of each round.

Item costs reflect their in-game effectiveness and power. Expect cheaper options early in the match, escalating prices mid-game, and potentially even more expensive gear available later if players strategically save their earnings. Furthermore, players will have the option to purchase respawns after elimination.

Launching in 2025, S&D Extraction promises a thrilling and dynamic competitive experience for Halo Infinite players, offering a compelling blend of familiar strategy and unique Halo twists.
