Where To Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, you can discover Essence Stones in chests scattered throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. My first encounter was while searching for items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but these chests can appear on any level across different biomes. Be cautious of mimic enemies, which can be easily mistaken for chests but will harm you if interacted with.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. While the smaller stones are more common, diligent searching can lead to the discovery of larger ones. If you struggle to find them, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How To Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery, a new feature introduced with the March 2025 update. This facility becomes available as part of a story quest where Adeline recruits you, along with Olric and Errol, to construct it within the mines.

To build the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes using Stone and Essence. The amount of materials required varies by size:

The Stone Refinery also allows crafting other common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it an essential hub for various projects and builds in *Fields of Mistria*.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update has brought the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which rely on Essence Stones. Larger stones provide a longer charge duration, making Large Essence Stones the most efficient choice for extended use.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. This statue ensures all animals within are automatically petted each day when powered by an Essence Stone. You can find this rare item in a concealed cave near Errol’s house in the Narrows by using the Dragon’s Breath spell on the entrance. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues as needed.

Similarly, the sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue, which you can place anywhere on your farm to automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius. These statues are found on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area. To access it, swim over and use Dragon’s Breath on the entrance. You can craft more of these statues to cover larger crop areas.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with updates from NPC Studio, expect Essence Stones to play an even more significant role in gameplay.
