The Rune Giant is Clash Royale's newest Epic card, unlocked in the Jungle Arena (Arena 9). A free Rune Giant is available via a limited-time shop offer (until January 17th, 2025). After this date, it can only be obtained from chests or the shop.

This guide explores the Rune Giant's strategic uses and presents several top-performing decks.

Clash Royale Rune Giant Overview

The Rune Giant, an Epic card, targets enemy Towers and defensive buildings. At tournament level, it boasts 2803 Hitpoints and medium movement speed, dealing 120 damage to buildings—more than an Ice Golem, but less than a Giant.

Its key feature is its Enchant effect: upon deployment, it buffs two nearby friendly troops, granting bonus damage with every third hit. This buffing capability makes it potent in specific deck combinations.

Costing only four elixir, it's easily cycled without excessive elixir drain. Fast-attacking troops like the Dart Goblin maximize its effect, while slower-attacking troops can benefit strategically.

Unlike the Golem, the Rune Giant lacks the Hitpoints to be a solo win condition. It excels as a support troop, distracting enemies and absorbing tower hits while supporting pushes.

Best Rune Giant Decks in Clash Royale

These decks leverage the Rune Giant's unique abilities:

  • Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
  • Battle Ram 3M
  • Hog EQ Firecracker

Details on each deck follow.

Goblin Giant Cannon Cart

While Goblin Giant decks often feature Sparky, this variant uses the Cannon Cart.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Goblin Giant 6 Evo Bats 2 Rage 2 Arrows 3 Rune Giant 4 Lumberjack 4 Cannon Cart 5 Elixir Collector 6

This beatdown deck boasts strong defense against various strategies. The Rune Giant primarily buffs the Cannon Cart and Goblin Giant (including the Spear Goblins). The Cannon Cart's durability allows significant damage output. The Elixir Collector, Lumberjack, and Rage spell offer additional Goblin Giant support. However, its weak air defense (only Evo Bats) makes Lava Hound decks challenging. This deck utilizes the Royal Chef Tower Troop.

Battle Ram 3M

This Three Musketeers deck plays similarly to Pekka Bridge Spam, utilizing the Bandit, Royal Ghost, and Evo Battle Ram for early pressure.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Zap 2 Evo Battle Ram 4 Bandit 3 Royal Ghost 3 Hunter 4 Rune Giant 4 Elixir Collector 6 Three Musketeers 9

The Elixir Collector builds an elixir advantage. The Three Musketeers are primarily used in Double Elixir time. Defense relies on the Rune Giant (tanking) and Hunter (clean-up) combo, enhanced by the Enchant buff. Evo Zap supports Battle Ram pushes. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.

Hog EQ Firecracker

This top-tier Hog Rider deck incorporates the Rune Giant.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Skeletons 1 Evo Firecracker 3 Ice Spirit 1 The Log 2 Earthquake 3 Cannon 3 Rune Giant 4 Hog Rider 4

Gameplay remains similar to standard Hog EQ Firecracker, but the Rune Giant replaces the Valkyrie or Mighty Miner. The Rune Giant's buff significantly enhances the Firecracker's damage. The Earthquake provides late-game tower damage. Evo Skeletons offer defensive utility. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.

The Rune Giant introduces exciting strategic depth to Clash Royale. Its buffing ability encourages experimentation. These decks provide a starting point; personalize them to fit your playstyle for optimal results.
