Captain America: Brave New World Projected to Beat Estimates With $100 Million Domestic Box Office Over Presidents Day Weekend

Captain America: Brave New World exceeds expectations, raking in an estimated $100 million domestically during its Presidents Day weekend debut.

Comscore reports the latest Marvel Studios film grossed approximately $88.5 million across 4,105 theaters over the three-day period, projecting a four-day total of $100 million. Adding its impressive $92.4 million international earnings, the film's global weekend estimate reaches $192.4 million.

Deadline reveals a production budget of $180 million, with a break-even point estimated at $425 million globally.

This strong opening places Captain America: Brave New World as the fourth-best Presidents Day debut, trailing only three other superhero films: Black Panther ($242 million), Deadpool ($152 million), and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120 million).

Despite mixed critical reception, including a 5/10 rating from IGN ("Captain America: Brave New World feels neither brave, nor all that new…"), the film's box office success is noteworthy. Its performance will be closely monitored to determine if it can reverse the recent downturn in Marvel Cinematic Universe films (excluding last year's highly successful Deadpool & Wolverine), and pave the way for the upcoming Thunderbolts in May and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July.
