Ten years of tranquil Sims life comes to an end as burglars return to the game! The Sims 4 developers recently announced a highly anticipated (though perhaps not universally welcomed) update in their latest blog post.

Similar to previous iterations, installing a security system offers protection against unwelcome visitors. Activating the alarm will summon the police to apprehend the culprit. Skilled Sims can enhance the system, improving its reliability and enabling automatic police alerts. Without an alarm, players can attempt a direct call to the police, hoping for a timely response. Alternatively, a more diplomatic approach involving befriending the burglar is also possible.

More unconventional methods exist for those with expansion packs: unleashing dogs, employing spellcasters, vampires, or werewolves against the intruder, or even freezing them with a specialized ray. These options, however, require the purchase of relevant expansion packs.
