Atelier Resleriana Global EOS Announced: Forgotten Alchemy and Polar Night Liberator

May 05,25

Another mobile game has met its end, with Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator announcing its End of Service (EOS). Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have confirmed that their RPG will soon be shutting down, but this decision only affects the global version. Launched globally in January 2024, the game struggled to gain traction, leading to this early closure. We will explore the reasons behind this EOS in more detail shortly.

In contrast, the Japanese version of Atelier Resleriana remains strong and shows no signs of shutting down. Launched in September 2023, it is set to celebrate its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025, which adds an ironic twist to the global version's fate. The reasons for this disparity will be discussed below.

When Is the Atelier Resleriana EOS?

Ironically, the global version's EOS is scheduled for the same month the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary. The exact date for the shutdown is March 28th, 2025. While Japanese players will be enjoying Chapter 22 (Part 2), global players will be concluding their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1).

The in-game purchase system has already been disabled, but players can still use any remaining Lodestar Gems until the game's end. Koei Tecmo has committed to providing new content and events until the shutdown.

Adding to the irony, the global version just celebrated its first anniversary on January 25th. A bittersweet milestone, as players now have to prepare for the game's closure.

Why Is It Shutting Down?

The developers have released a notice stating that, after assessing their inability to meet player expectations, they decided to shut down the global version. This decision is understandable, as the game failed to resonate with its audience.

Just a couple of months after its launch, players began criticizing the game's gacha system. Despite the appeal of the main characters, the gameplay and monetization model did not meet player expectations, and the issue of power creep was significant.

These factors ultimately led to the announcement of the EOS for Atelier Resleriana's global version. If you wish to bid farewell to the game, you can still find it on the Google Play Store.
