Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising to enhance the gaming experience with features such as new game+, additional difficulty settings, new story content, and more. This ambitious plan aims to keep players engaged and satisfied throughout 2025.

The company shared a comprehensive four-and-a-half-minute roadmap update video today, providing a detailed schedule for the upcoming months. This video highlights Ubisoft's commitment to delivering regular free updates to keep fans coming back for more of the stealth-action adventure set in Feudal Japan.

The rollout begins in early May with The Works of Luis Frois, the first of several free story add-ons. Accompanying this will be a Codex update, quality-of-life enhancements, significant parkour additions, and a photo mode update. Ubisoft emphasizes that these updates are a direct response to community feedback, showcasing their dedication to listening to players and refining the game accordingly.

"Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released," said community developer Daniel St. Germain in the video. He assured players that regular title updates will include impactful additions and changes, along with essential bug fixes to ensure a polished experience across all platforms.

In June, players can expect another free story drop, alongside more challenging difficulty settings, gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to toggle headgear visibility during cutscenes. These updates are highly anticipated by the community, but Ubisoft has even more in store, including new game+ support, further story expansions, special collaborations, and more throughout the year.

The highlight of the roadmap is the first major DLC expansion, Claws of Awaji, set to release later in 2025. This expansion promises a 10-hour adventure featuring new content, such as the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore. While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows will receive this expansion for free.
