Anno 117: Pax Romana Trailer Released Roman Empire Expansion Gameplay
Ubisoft Mainz has offered a closer look at Anno 1800's successor, Anno 117: Pax Romana, in a recent trailer. Previous announcements highlighted Lazio and Albion as key regions; however, the new preview suggests Lazio serves as an introductory area before players move to the main setting in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio initially presents a peaceful environment, but a catastrophic event forces players to seek refuge in uncharted territories – Britain (Albion). Albion presents significant challenges: harsh weather, hostile tribes, and its remoteness from Rome all create difficulties for effective governance.
Players take on the role of governor, tasked with navigating these obstacles without relying solely on military might. Diplomacy and respect for local traditions are encouraged. A notable gameplay element is the customizable ship design, allowing strategic choices between speed (via oarsmen) and offensive capabilities (with archery turrets).
Anno 117: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
