Third-person horror shooter Forgotten Memories now has its latest iteration, Forgotten Memories: Remastered, available on Android via Google Play after first launching for iOS this Halloween. Boasting enhanced graphics, audio and improved gameplay, this is the definitive way to experience Psychose Interactive's chiller of a thriller.

A throwback to the 90s style of third-person horror, Forgotten Memories ditches the fixed camera angles in favour of a more modern over-the-shoulder perspective as you play detective Rose Hawkins investigating a bizarre case. Forming a precarious alliance with the enigmatic woman Noah, does this devil's deal spell doom for Rose as she fights to survive?

While our then-resident reviewer Mark Brown may have docked a few points for Forgotten Memories' focus on puzzles when he originally reviewed it, for fans of 90s horror releases like the original Resident Evil, that slow, creeping exploration of claustrophobic environment is sure to be shudder-inducing in the best of ways.

It's always good to see past releases get a fresh coat of paint, and for something like Forgotten Memories which launched during the awkward growth phase of truly visually impressive technical achievements on mobile, the new lighting and graphics do look truly impressive. At the same time, its adherence to the old-school conventions is sure to irk some, but if the Resident Evil 3 remake disappointed you, maybe this is the survival horror you've been waiting for.
