2025's Biggest Video Game Releases: A Sneak Peek

Happy New Year! As another year begins, let's look ahead at the most anticipated video game releases of 2025.

January 2025

Kick off the year with Dynasty Warriors: Origins (January 17th), the latest installment in Tecmo Koei's acclaimed musou series. Experience the thrill of massive battles on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Prefer a different kind of warfare? Sniper Elite: Resistance (January 30th) returns with its signature brand of long-range sniping and… well, you know. Available on all major platforms.

February 2025

February 11th brings a double dose of gaming goodness: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, continuing Henry of Skalitz's adventures in 14th-century Bohemia, and Sid Meier's Civilization 7, the latest iteration of the iconic 4X strategy game. Both launch on current-gen consoles and PC (Civ 7 also on Linux).

Romance and adventure intertwine on Valentine's Day (February 14th) with Assassin's Creed Shadows, set in feudal Japan, and the quirky dating sim, Date Everything!, offering a unique cast of characters on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

Obsidian's Avowed (February 18th) offers a first-person RPG experience within the Pillars of Eternity universe on Xbox Series X|S and PC. For high-seas adventures, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (February 21st) stars Goro Majima in a surprising new role across multiple platforms. Finally, February 28th sees the arrival of Monster Hunter Wilds, aiming to refine the beloved formula for both veterans and newcomers on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.

March 2025

March 6th delivers cooperative fun with Hazelight's Split Fiction, a sci-fi/fantasy adventure for PC and current-gen consoles. For a more tranquil experience, Tales of the Shire (March 25th) offers a cozy life sim set in Middle-earth's Hobbiton on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

Post-apocalyptic survival awaits in Atomfall (March 27th), inspired by Fallout and Stalker, on all platforms except Switch. Also on March 27th, The First Berserker: Khazan, an action RPG based on the Dungeon Fighter universe, launches on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

March 28th brings the visually stunning life simulator inZOI to PC, potentially a major contender in the life sim genre, with console versions planned later.

April 2025

Finally, April 24th sees the return of the Fatal Fury series with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, the first new entry in the franchise this century, on PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
