Experience the future of phone navigation with Fluid NG, a gesture-based navigation app inspired by Breccia's design. This app, while no longer actively maintained, offers a fresh, intuitive interface. (Requires ADB, root access, or a supported device)
Key Features:
Fluid NG utilizes two primary gestures: "Quick swipe" and "Swipe & Hold," triggered from the screen's bottom or side edges. Side gestures are confined to the bottom half of the screen, ensuring compatibility with app side menus. Supported actions include:
- Back navigation
- Home screen access
- Recent apps view
- Split-screen toggle
- Notification access
- Power menu access
- Quick settings access
- Google search overlay launch
- Keyboard selector
- Voice search
- Assistant launch
- App launching
- Shortcut launching
Setup & Permissions:
The app provides an integrated option to hide the standard navigation keys. However, this requires root access or utilizing ADB (Android Debug Bridge) on a PC/Mac. Instructions for ADB setup and permission granting are detailed below.
ADB Instructions (PC/Mac):
- Enable Developer Mode in your Android settings.
- Enable USB Debugging.
- Configure ADB on your PC/Mac.
- Execute the following ADB command to grant the necessary permission:
adb shell pm grant com.fb.fluid android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
To restore the navigation keys, disable Fluid NG or use this ADB command: adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,0
Simplified Permission Granting (Windows):
The open-source FluidNGPermissionGranter tool simplifies permission granting on Windows. Download link available within the app's description.
ADB Setup Resources:
Comprehensive guides on setting up ADB are readily available online via xda-developers, Lifehacker, and TilesOrganization.
Contribution & Feedback:
Contribute translations to make Fluid NG accessible to a wider audience. Feedback is welcome via Twitter and the app's Telegram group and channel.
