Unleash your keys with the power of open source! Keymapper offers a versatile platform for customizing your device's hardware buttons to suit your needs. Whether it's fingerprint gestures on supported devices, volume buttons, navigation buttons, or even buttons on your Bluetooth or wired keyboards, you can remap them to enhance your user experience. Keep in mind, though, that only hardware buttons are eligible for remapping, and there's no assurance that all will work seamlessly due to potential restrictions from your device's OEM/vendor.

With Keymapper, you can get creative by combining multiple keys from a single device or across different devices to create a "trigger". These triggers can execute multiple actions, whether the keys are pressed simultaneously or in a sequence. You have the flexibility to set up actions for short presses, long presses, or double presses, tailoring your device to your unique workflow. Additionally, you can set up "constraints" for your keymaps, ensuring they only activate under specific conditions.

However, not all buttons can be remapped. The power button, Bixby button, mouse buttons, and game controller components like the D-pad, thumb sticks, or triggers are off-limits. Remember, your custom key maps will not function when the screen is off, a limitation inherent to Android.

Wondering what you can do with your remapped keys? The possibilities are vast! From adjusting system settings to executing complex sequences, Keymapper supports a wide array of actions. Some features might require a rooted device and are specific to certain Android versions, so be sure to check the comprehensive list at docs.keymapper.club/user-guide/actions.

When it comes to permissions, you're in control. Keymapper doesn't demand all permissions at once; the app will guide you on which permissions are necessary for specific features. The Accessibility Service is fundamental for remapping to work, allowing the app to listen to and block key events. Other permissions like Device Admin, Modify System Settings, and Camera are used for actions like turning off the screen, adjusting brightness and rotation, and controlling the flashlight, respectively. Note that on some devices, enabling the Accessibility Service might disable "enhanced data encryption".
