If you're managing your diabetes with the FreeStyle Libre or FreeStyle Libre 2 system, the FreeStyle LibreLink app is your go-to tool for seamless glucose monitoring. With the FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensors, you can now enjoy the convenience of automatic glucose readings updated every minute directly in the app. Not only that, but you'll also receive timely alarms when your glucose levels are too low or too high, ensuring you stay on top of your health at all times. [1] [2]
The FreeStyle LibreLink app offers a range of features designed to make diabetes management easier and more intuitive:
- View your current glucose level, trend arrow, and historical data to track your progress over time.
- Set up alarms for low or high glucose levels with the FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensors, keeping you informed and safe. [2]
- Add notes to log your meals, insulin doses, and physical activities, helping you identify patterns and make informed decisions.
- Access comprehensive reports such as Time in Range and Daily Patterns to better understand your glucose trends.
- Share your glucose data with your healthcare provider and loved ones, with your consent, for coordinated care. [3]
Before you start, ensure your smartphone is compatible with the app. Compatibility can vary based on your device and operating system. For a list of compatible phones, visit http://FreeStyleLibre.com.
When using both the app and the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader with the same sensor, remember that alarms can only be received on one device at a time. To get alarms on your phone, start the sensor with the app. If you prefer alarms on the reader, initiate the sensor with the reader. Once started with the reader, you can still scan the sensor with your phone. Keep in mind that the app and reader do not share data, so to get a complete picture, scan the sensor every 8 hours with the device you're using. You can upload and view data from all your devices at LibreView.com.
The FreeStyle LibreLink app is designed to measure glucose levels in individuals with diabetes when used with the appropriate sensor. For detailed instructions on using the app, refer to the User Manual accessible through the app itself. If you need a printed version, reach out to Abbott Diabetes Care Customer Support.
Always consult with a healthcare professional to determine if the FreeStyle Libre system is suitable for your needs and to discuss how to use the data for making treatment decisions. For more information, visit http://FreeStyleLibre.com.
[1] Note that the FreeStyle LibreLink app requires a separate glucose monitoring system, as the app itself does not provide this functionality.
[2] Alarms from the app do not include a glucose reading; you must scan the sensor to check your glucose levels.
