The rules of Mau Mau are straightforward and are detailed within the app itself, but you can also review them at https://mauking.com/pravila-igre-mau-mau. To refresh your memory, here’s a quick recap:
- The game begins with one card on the table and six cards dealt to each player.
- The first player to discard all their cards wins the game.
- On your turn, you must play a card that matches the top card on the table by either number or suit.
- If you can’t play a card, you draw one from the Draw Pile. If you still can't play, hit the "Pass" button.
- Before playing your second-to-last card, click the Hand button to signal that you’re down to your last card. A raised hand icon will appear next to your profile, alerting others that you're close to winning.
Special cards add a thrilling twist to the game:
- The Jack is a versatile card that can be played on any card except another Jack. When played, you choose the suit for the next player's move.
- The Eight skips the next player's turn.
- The Seven forces the next player to draw two cards unless they can play another Seven, causing the following player to draw four, and so on.
- The Queen reverses the direction of play.
- Playing an Ace grants you another turn, meaning you can’t end the game with an Ace as you must play again, even if it means drawing a card.
- The Two of Clubs requires the next player to draw four cards from the draw pile.
