MAME4droid: Your Android Arcade Emulator

MAME4droid, developed by D. Valdeita (Seleuco), brings the classic arcade experience to Android. This Android port of iMAME4all (originally for jailbroken iPhones and iPads) is based on MAME 0.37b5, enhanced with contributions from the MAME Team, GP2X, and WIZ MAME4ALL 2.5 by Franxis.

MAME4droid boasts emulation of over 2000 ROM sets from the original MAME 0.37b5, plus select titles from later versions. Keep in mind that performance will vary across games and devices; some may run flawlessly, while others might not run at all. Please do not contact the developer requesting support for specific games. Older devices may experience performance limitations. To optimize performance, consider reducing sound quality or disabling it entirely, using 8-bit depth, underclocking the CPU and sound CPUs, and disabling animations and smooth scaling.

ROM Placement: After installation, place your MAME-titled zipped ROMs in the /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/roms folder. Note that MAME4droid and iMAME4all exclusively use '0.37b5' and 'GP2X, WIZ 0.37b11 mame romsets'. The included /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/clrmame.dat file and ClrMAME Pro (available at http://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/) can convert ROM sets from other MAME versions.

Save States: MAME4droid does not support save states due to its MAME 0.37b5 base.
