Story

The DC universe is composed of multiple parallel dimensions that exist simultaneously, known as alternative universes. In these unique realms, events unfold differently, leading to a multitude of outcomes.

The game is set in a fictional alternative universe where Superman, after being tricked into killing his pregnant wife Lois and millions of civilians in a tragic nuclear accident, becomes corrupted. He brutally eliminates the Joker, the mastermind behind the tragedy, and establishes tyrannical control over the entire planet.

With his mind corrupted, Superman views himself as a supreme deity tasked with maintaining peace and order. He becomes increasingly ruthless, willing to kill anyone he deems guilty.

This cannot continue, or the planet will descend into total destruction. A group of superheroes, led by Batman, forms the Insurgency to oppose Superman's dictatorship. Despite their formidable powers, they are unable to defeat Superman's One Earth Regime and seek assistance.
