Cards Golf
This app offers three distinct two-player card games: Four Cards Golf, Six Cards Golf, and Scat. Game selection is handled through the in-app Settings.
Four Cards Golf Rules:
The objective, like in traditional golf, is to achieve the lowest possible score. Each game comprises nine rounds. At the start of each round, both players receive four face-down cards. The remaining cards form a draw pile, with one card flipped face-up to begin the discard pile.
Players initially get one glimpse at the two cards closest to them. These cards must remain hidden from their opponent. Subsequent viewing is only permitted during discarding or final scoring.
On a player's turn, they may draw one card from either the draw pile or the discard pile. A draw pile card can replace any card in their layout (without seeing the card being replaced). The replaced card is then added face-up to the discard pile. Discard pile cards must be used to replace a card in the player's layout. A drawn card can also be discarded without replacing a card.
A player can choose to "knock," ending their turn. The round concludes once all players have had a turn after the knock.
Scoring:
- Pairs (same value) in a row or column: 0 points
- Jokers: -2 points
- Kings: 0 points
- Queens and Jacks: 10 points
- Other cards: Face value
- Four of a kind: -6 points
Six Cards Golf Rules:
This two-player game also aims for the lowest score over nine rounds. Each player starts with six face-down cards; the remainder form the draw pile, with one card in the discard pile.
Players initially reveal two cards. They then reduce their score by swapping cards for lower-value ones or creating pairs in columns.
Turns involve drawing one card from either pile. The drawn card can replace one of the player's cards, or be discarded. Replacing a face-down card leaves the replacement face-up. Discarding ends the turn. The round ends when all a player's cards are face-up.
Scoring:
- Pairs in a column: 0 points
- Jokers: -2 points
- Kings: 0 points
- Queens and Jacks: 20 points
- Other cards: Face value
The game allows play against AI or a friend on the same device.
